Solar and Sustainability

Polestar Boston not only sells electrified cars, we also make the electricity that goes inside of them! Our building on N Beacon Street in Allston/Brighton houses a 285-panel solar array on the roof, helping to supply our Polestars with locally sourced power. It’s another way we are walking the walk toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Our building itself tells a larger story about the values of Polestar Boston and the Village Automotive Group. Built in the 1920s as the New England Regional Headquarters for the International Harvester Company, it was later the home of New Balance and their famous factory outlet. We purchased the building about 20 years ago with the intention of using the space to expand our Boston Volvo location. Rather than go the easy route and tear down the old building, we decided upon adaptive reuse. Not only would we save a beautiful piece of local history, but we would follow sustainability principles by reducing the amount of building materials needed to transform a commercial parcel. We did such a good job we were presented 2 awards for historic preservation.

Polestar Boston

We share our unique building alongside Boston Volvo Cars in Boston’s Allston/Brighton neighborhood. We are minutes from the Green Line (B Branch), the Mass Pike (I-90) and Soldier's Field Road. We are also steps from the Boston Landing stop on the Framingham/Worcester Line of the MBTA Commuter Rail.

Polestar Boston is not only easy to access, but our neighborhood has undergone a renaissance in recent years, with new shops, buildings, apartments, condos, restaurants and offices rising left and right. Boston Landing, the new New Balance HQ, the TRACK at New Balance, the Warrior Ice Arena where the Bruins practice, the Auerbach Center where the Celtics practice, the Roadrunner performance venue, a new Stop and Shop and so much more. Our once industrially scruffy neighborhood has become one of the most exciting and vibrant areas in Boston to visit.
